I’ve wanted a good excuse to take lots of photos and write a review of brunch at Ten Hands Cafe Bar and now I finally have a reason to!

Ten Hands Cafe Bar is situated in the heart of Watling Street in Towcester, Northamptonshire and it’s one of my favourite places to go for brunch or coffee. So much so, it’s included in both my Brunch Guide and my Coffee Guide to Northamptonshire.

That’s why I decided that the Spring social for the Northamptonshire Bloggers Network, following on from our successful Christmas event. I wanted to introduce the bloggers to Towcester, as many, hadn’t visited Towcester before. I’m so glad I was able to show the bloggers one good reason to visit the town.

Although we had a small group of bloggers attend, it was a nice, intimate, friendly group of people that didn’t seem too daunting for those who were attending their first meet-up.

But let’s talk about the brunch itself…

From the very start, the team at Ten Hands Cafe Bar were flexible, accommodating and made us feel very at home. Our brunch started off with two big bowls of fresh fruit on the table, fresh lemon and mint water and a bowl of overnight oats to start.

I love the fact we had fresh fruit to help ourselves too, especially as the strawberries were BIG AND JUICY (emphasis on the big and juicy because they were) and it was nice to nibble on some fresh grapes in-between dishes.

The overnight oats were a great start to our meal, as the banana and yoghurt mixed together made everything really creamy, with the addition of the berries on top.

I can never fault the coffee at Ten Hands Cafe Bar; they know what they are doing when it comes to making great coffee! Their freshly brewed coffee is courtesy of North Star Coffee Roasters, based in Leeds, but nevertheless, it tastes great and perfectly blends well with a dash of vanilla in.

I’m always ordering my usual order of a skinny vanilla latte in there and they get the latte pattern spot on every time.

Ten Hands Cafe Bar were able to offer us bloggers a variety of choices for our main brunch option and were able to accommodate those with dietary requirements (gluten free, vegan etc).

When it comes to brunch, I usually stick to the same options; I have been very fond of their Eggs Royale in the past and previously, that was always my first choice.

However, on this occasion, I decided to push the boat out and try something different. Plus, since it was Pancake Day not so long ago and I missed the opportunity to have some, I chose to have the Pancake stack with greek yoghurt, strawberry compote and berries.

For pancakes, they were so incredibly light and fluffy and didn’t make me too bloated – plus, it was great that these pancakes were much healthier compared to your usual pancakes that are smothered in maple syrup with crispy bacon, which was ideal for me whilst I’ve been on the slimming world plan!

There were a variety of brunch options on the table from the other bloggers, from Avocado Smash, Eggs Benedict and much more. Ten Hands Cafe Bar has so much to offer in terms of breakfast, brunch and lunch – you’ll never feel like you’re out of options.

Overall, I am so pleased I was able to bring the bloggers to Ten Hands Cafe Bar. The spring sunshine was shining through the french doors, which made taking photos of our food and drink so easy in perfect lighting conditions. The staff were always friendly and gave us plenty of time in-between our dishes to chat and mingle, whilst ensuring we always had water top up.

Also a special shout out to Jenn, who made some beautiful bunting with ‘Northants Bloggers’ on which we can use for future events, plus for supplying each blogger with a little goodie bag and a discount for her new Etsy shop, The Wishful Luxury Shop.

It was a nice added touch that I hadn’t thought about supplying on this occasion and I can’t thank her enough for doing that small, but appreciated the gesture.
