Last month, I was invited to the official relaunch for the new look refurbishment of the Holiday Inn hotel in Northampton West following from a £2 million makeover.
I'll be honest, I've never actually stayed at the Holiday Inn. Just because when I think of hotels that are suitable for one night only stays, I usually think of Travelodge or Premier Inn.
But after attending the Holiday Inn Northampton West, I'm now considering Holiday Inn as my only option for hotel accommodation.
The event was held at the hotel on Thursday 26th January and myself and the Northants Bloggers were invited to attend the event.
Unfortunately, due to other commitments, not many others were able to attend, however, I was able to meet Lisa at The Beauty Type and her husband at the event, which was lovely!
I wasn't sure what to expect at this event, but I walked in and was instantly welcomed by the ad hoc PR ladies, who were nothing but helpful, friendly and their hospitality was first class in ensuring we had a drink, making sure we were okay and making sure we managed to meet everyone in the room.
The refurbishment was stunning! This isn't your usual hotel as everything is bright, vibrant and full of different interesting ornaments and location-specific decorations such as the different decorative shoes, which I think was a really nice touch seeing as Northampton is known for shoemaking!
The lobby was an open lobby, so it's the perfect place not just for hotel guests but I could see myself coming here for a coffee and do some blogging work one day, as the open lobby included a huge array of seating, a coffee bar where they served Starbucks and lots of plugs for laptops which I particularly liked seeing.
As soon as I came in, I was offered a drink, given a badge and I was able to pop my coat behind the counter in the cloakroom.
Obviously turning up on my own, I did feel a little nervous as I had never attended this type of event on my own before, but soon enough I made my way around the room to have a look and I got to chat to some very interesting people, including two Saint Rugby players, Christian Day and Jamie Elliot and the Mayor of Daventry.
There was champagne, orange juice and elderflower for the non-drinkers, an array of canapés that were circling around well, live music from Mango Acoustic who perfectly complimented the evening with their acoustic covers and everyone looked like they were enjoying the evening and company.
One of the highlights of the evening was the magician, Steve Dimmer, who entertained myself and the other guests with some incredible magic tricks. He even got me involved and made me speechless over his mind blowing guess the movie trick!
There were speeches made by the hotel General Manager, Seb Waring and a spokesperson from Splendid Hospitality who were heavily involved in the refurbishment of the hotel which was really interesting to hear how the whole refurbishment took place.
There was a charity raffle throughout the evening which in the end raised a whopping £250 which all went towards Macmillan Daventry and there were some great prizes that were won, including a meal for two at the hotel which was won by our very own Northants blogger, Lisa!
We also had the chance to look at the refurbishment in the hotel rooms. They were so bright, colourful yet super classy. I loved the decor in the room we viewed with the beautiful artwork in the background that complemented the room super well. I'd seriously consider staying there for the night, even though I live in Northamptonshire!
At the end of the event, we were given a 10% discount card for our next stay at the hotel, food and drinks card and some lovely handmade stiletto cookies made by Let it be cake which were beautifully decorated and followed the theme from the shoes, plus super yummy!
I am so pleased that I attended this event. It's more than just a hotel as it's the perfect place for socialising, having a coffee whilst doing work and holding events.
I have seriously considering using their lobby for the next Northants Blogger event! Plus it was the perfect opportunity for me to meet new people, network and mingle!
The Holiday Inn at Northampton West is not just a stunning hotel to lay your head for the night; it's a versatile venue in which is stunning, accommodating and can be used for all sorts of events and occasions.
A massive thank you to the Holiday Inn staff for being so accommodating, including the hotel manager Seb Waring and a huge thank you to the ad hoc PR ladies who were Alissa, Deborah and Martyna who made me feel very welcome and made sure I was alright. Thank you also to Lisa from ad hoc PR who initially invited me to the event but sadly wasn't able to make the event herself.
I'd thoroughly recommend coming here for any occasion and I am looking forward to promoting the Holiday Inn at Northampton West more when I come and stay here for the evening!
