But Nicole, it's only October and you're already talking about Christmas!?
Sorry not sorry.
But I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
Call me Buddy the Elf, because I was ready for Christmas back on September 1st.
October and November are just the months leading up to Christmas. Sure, they're nice with Halloween, Autumn and Bonfire Night, but Christmas is the occasion I am most excited for.
I am that excited that I am already planning my Christmas blog content which is the most organised I have ever been.
I didn't get into the festive mood on my blog last year, as I distinctly remember not having much inspiration for Christmas content.
And I've already started putting Christmas events in my diary, whether they be plans with friends, blogging events or Christmas events happening in the local area.
So I thought for my first Christmas themed blog post, I would do a summary of what's happening at Christmas time around Northamptonshire. Because it's the area I am from and already, there are so many great events that have popped up - it will certainly be an impossible task to visit them all!
There is so much going on in Northamptonshire for Christmas that you won't be stuck for things to do.
Plus, since it is October, I thought it would give you plenty of time to organise your diaries ahead of the festive season.
900 Years of Christmas - Candle Lit Tours of Delapre Abbey
Having been to Delapre Abbey on a number of occasions, I can see why it would be the ideal place to go on a festive visit.
It's a chance to explore Delapre Abbey by candlelight on a festive tour where you will get to hear the history about the building and nooks and crannies of this spectacular building.
If you're a history buff who loves Christmas, I highly recommend you go to this event.
📍 This event is held at Delapre Abbey, Northampton on Thursday 6th, 13th and 20th of December from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
Castle Ashby Shopping Yard Christmas Evening
Two things that go together perfectly: Christmas and shopping.
Castle Ashby is a lovely area of Northamptonshire and Castle Ashby Rural Shopping Yard is hosting an event for your last minute shopping for unique, independent and homemade gifts.
The event will feature The Deli that's situated at Castle Ashby, plus gifts from Humble Home Gifts & Furniture, Busy Bee Books, The Little Things and plenty more.
Whilst you shop, you can grab a free glass of mulled wine and a mince pie whilst you mooch around. I am certain you will be able to find something at this event!

Christmas Fiesta at Wharf Distillery
This is one for the foodies and lovers of beer, wine and cider.
I am yet to visit Wharf Distillery, despite being so close to them and how I've purchased stuff from them at food festivals. Recently, they seem to hold some pretty epic events, including their Christmas Fiesta which sounds like my kind of event!
Go along if you want to enjoy some amazing street food from some local producers in the area, warm up with some hot mulled cider and browse the many stalls and other goodies on offer.
I'll be grabbing my tickets very soon!
📍 This event is held at Wharf Distillery in Potterspury on Saturday 8th December from 10am to 4pm.
My Little Vintage Christmas Market at Bell Plantation
I love the Bell Plantation at Christmas time as it truly comes to life!
Bell Plantation host many events over Christmas, including their preview event, but this one particularly caught my eye and will do so for any vintage lovers out there.
My Little Vintage Christmas Market is back for the second year due to popular demand and it features a market full of local artisans, creators collectors and designers from the area. Specialising in things like crochet, artwork, jewellery, candles and many more wonderful homemade items.
It sounds like a fantastic event for anyone who wants to find gifts with a difference.

Winter Wonderland at Billing Aquadrome
I turn into a big kid whenever I hear the words 'Winter Wonderland'.
Who needs to go to London when there's a Winter Wonderland right in Northampton, thanks to Billing Aquadrome. They'll be ice skating, which is always fun with friends, mulled wine and plenty of Christmas market stalls to keep you entertained.
Plus, if you have little ones, I hear Santa will be making an appearance at Santa's Grotto!
📍 This event will be held at Billing Aquadrome, Northampton from Saturday 1st December to Saturday 15th December from 10am.
Northampton Winter Food Festival
Okay, it's not quite a Christmas event, but it's close enough!
The Northampton Winter Food Festival is a celebration of artisan food and drink in the run up to Christmas and will feature local food and drink artisans, workshops and street food.
Plus, Chinese chef Kwoklyn Wan is starring as one of the main chef's during the chef demos that take place over the weekend.
