Where To Drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes in Northamptonshire

Pumpkin Spice Latte in Northampton

‘Tis the season: Pumpkin Spice Latte season.

I absolutely love this time of year when Autumn finally hits and with a new season comes the new seasonal craze of Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks.

When it was announced that they were coming back, the world went CRAZY over it and even though it was still August, people were already declaring it as Autumn, which was mad!

However, when I saw that the Pumpkin Spice Latte was coming back, obviously I was excited that they were making a comeback, but it got me thinking: is there anywhere local and independent that does Pumpkin Spice Lattes?

Don’t get me wrong, the only time I do find myself visiting Starbucks is when the Pumpkin Spice Lattes are in stock, because it tastes just like Autumn and gives me a fuzzy, warm sensation during every sip.

BUT, I’m all about shining a light on those independents in Northamptonshire that might stock the same drink, but potentially doing it much cheaper and BETTER.

So I went on a mission to see what local independent coffee shops had their own version of this Autumnal drink and rated them out of 5. I’ve also discovered that these places have their own Autumn ranges, so something to consider if you’re looking for something different.

Matchbox Cafe

Matchbox Cafe Northampton quickly jumped on the trend when Starbucks announced Pumpkin Spice was coming back, but turns out, they sell it ALL YEAR ROUND! So you don’t just have to wait for Autumn to come round.

The cafe is run by Bing and Yasmin who are some of the loveliest people I’ve met, who are always so supportive of my work and others around Northampton.

When you step inside, it’s as though you are literally stepping into a Matchbox! And they are brilliant when it comes to serving seasonal drinks all year round, with so many flavour combinations – their creativity is outstanding too when it comes to how they present their Pumpkin Spice Latte.

For a large Pumpkin Spice Latte, I paid £3.30 which is cheaper than a large at Starbucks, but not only do you get the flavour in the drink itself, but that includes cream and lots of Halloween decorations and sprinkles on top, making this a totally instagrammable drink!

Find Matchbox Cafe on 47 Abington Street, Northampton, NN1 2AW.

Magic Bean Emporium

The most magical shop in Northampton serves this seasonal drink all year round too! So you never have to wait for Autumn to get this festive drink.

Whether you fancy drinking it in, or taking it out, Magic Bean Emporium will be sure to give this drink a magical touch, with cream and chocolate sprinkles on top. I adore their takeaway cups and think they are beautifully created!

A regular Pumpkin Spice Latte at Magic Bean Emporium costs £3.75 which is still much cheaper than Starbucks and it’s much nicer in taste – plus, you get the magnificent experience of drinking your coffee in a Harry Potter-inspired setting which you can only image Harry, Ron and Hermione drinking Pumpkin Spice Lattes in!

Magic Bean Emporium have just launched their version of a “hot milkshake” which is available in 20 different flavours!

The Fox & Peony

A delightful little cafe based in Glendon Lodge Farm near Kettering: TheFox&Peony!

It offers locally sourced tea, coffee and a wide selection of homemade cakes, soup, savoury and sweet treats. It’s the most gorgeous pink and gold venue that is very instagrammable and one of the owners, Ellen, is just a lovely human being.

Their Pumpkin Spice Latte is one of my favourites because they have nailed their branding by using a fox template which they sprinkle Cinnamon powder on top giving it not only an epic Autumnal taste, but the decoration is stunning!

The Pumpkin Spice Latte at Fox & Peony costs £3.25.

It’s a lovely little spot that is available for bookings for events and parties and has been a great venue for the Pink Clouding Collab Club workshops!

A new recent discovery and favourite brunch spot of mine – The Old Market Inn Kettering has recently undergone a refurbishment and of course, they are not missing out on the Pumpkin Spice Latte trend!

Their Pumpkin Spice Latte is very simple, but effective and still brings you that fuzzy, warm feeling when drinking it. Topped with whipped cream, served in a colourful big mug which you can wrap your hands around, it’s perfect for rainy day hiding away!

Ten Hands Cafe Bar

I was absolutely ecstatic when Ten Hands announced they were bringing their own version of Pumpkin Spice Latte to their cafe!

In recent years, they’ve not stocked such drink but now they are happily stocking the seasonal drink!

They are really good at asking beforehand how sweet you want your Pumpkin syrup to be and I quite like mine just right, not too sweet, but not so you can’t taste anything.

Whether you fancy a drink in or takeaway, Ten Hands Cafe Bar finally have PSL! Woohoo!

I am on a mission to find more places, so if you know of any independent cafes or coffee shops that are doing their own version of this seasonal drink, send your recommendations my way!

So before you head straight to your local chain coffee shop, please keep in mind that you can visit any independent coffee shop in Northamptonshire or beyond for that matter and I guarantee they will have their own version of a Pumpkin Spice Latte and other seasonal drinks!

Have you had your first independent coffee shop Pumpkin Spice Latte?
