Northamptonshire Bloggers Christmas Party 2019

It’s that time of year again! We successfully organised another Northamptonshire Bloggers Christmas Party and this year, we went bigger, better than ever!

Every year since 2016 (apart from 2017!) I have organised and hosted the annual Northamptonshire Bloggers Christmas party and this year, as I find I’m constantly doing everything myself, I decided to gain the help of Jenn from The Wishful Luxury this time round and I have to say – it massively helped as I couldn’t have pulled off such a big event!

We had been organising the event since October and we always like to mix up what venue and area of Northamptonshire we choose, so we can cater to as many people as possible.

After our 2016 being at Revolution and 2018’s event at Bell Northampton, we decided to go further south to The Butchers Arms in Greens Norton.

As always, we raised money for The Lewis Foundation, a charity that focuses on giving cancer patients in hospital gifts and care packages to make their time in hospital a little bit easier.

Lorraine was in attendance for the charity and it’s always a pleasure to support this cause and help raise money for them!

Here is a little bit more about what we got up to, who was involved and the party itself:

The Venue

This year, we decided to host our Northamptonshire Bloggers Christmas Party at The Butchers Arms in Greens Norton, who have a convenient ‘Meating’ room which is perfect for parties, events and private dining.

We were able to decide on how to decorate and set up the space, from tables and chairs, to quirky little features and Christmas bits.

We also made sure to have a table for the buffet of which The Butchers Arms provided us with an array of canapes, plus drinks.

We also had a space for the raffle and for the Lewis Foundation to hold up their big sign, which really completed the look of the venue. We also brought in our own little touches like the Warner’s Gin bottles with sparkly lights inside and used some of The Butchers Arms decorations too.

But the biggest contribution to the look and feel of the venue was the amazing balloon display set up by Bloombox Events who created a beautiful, festive balloon wreath with hints of burgundy red and gold like our logo!

It was definitely eye-capturing and really was a talking point of the party where lots of the bloggers took advantage and got photos!

It was a very good sized space for what we needed for the event and there was plenty of room for everybody to mingle.

The raffle

The raffle was once again all to raise money for The Lewis Foundation and we got a range of local businesses involved with the raffle who all contributed something unique and different.

From Christmas themed gifts, foodie items, vouchers to claim for experiences and much more. We couldn’t have managed a raffle without the generosity and kindness of the local businesses who got involved.

We managed to raise over £50 for The Lewis Foundation which is fantastic, as it only costs around £3 to put together a care package for a cancer patient, so this means our work will have made a big difference.

The goodie bags

Not only did some of us come away winning prizes from the charity raffle, but we also took home some goodie bags full of generous gifts from local businesses!

The goodie bags themselves were all customized with our blog names and with the Northamptonshire Bloggers local, thanks to The Wishful Luxury, which was such a nice touch to the event having something to take away and be able to wear on future occasions – I love a good tote bag!

Inside, we got goodies such as biscuits, custom prints, sweets, makeup goodies and much more. It was lovely to be involved in getting the goodies together and even was a surprise for me going through the bag and seeing what I got!

Big thank you to…

The Butchers Arms for hosting us and supplying the prosecco and food for our bloggers.

The Copper Kitchen for bringing cakes for everyone to enjoy and for attending!

Bloom Box Events for providing us with the festive Christmas display!

Khandie Photography who was responsible for taking lots of photos for us, of which you can see in this blog post – she really captured the essence of the day!

Lorraine from The Lewis Foundation for agreeing for us to fundraise for you and being a huge support of the Northamptonshire Bloggers Network.

A big thank you to all the businesses who contributed to the raffle and the goodie bags, including Friars Farm, Coulson Macleod, Urzanyme, The Butchers Arms, Pink Clouding Co, Handmade by HJ, The Copper Kitchen, LollyRocket, Magnificent Makes UK, Age UK Northants, EC Interiors, AVON, G&T’s Northampton and Bar Encore.

And obviously, a BIG thank you to all the bloggers who came to the event and were supportive before, during and gave us such positive comments about the event as a whole.

We literally couldn’t have held the event without you all!
