Oh what a happy day!
The highly anticipated opening of Northamptonshire known husband and wife cheese makers, Hamm Tun Fine Foods, brand new deli has finally opened at Whittlebury Park inside the Paddocks – previously known for its sports bar atmosphere.
It’s a great collaboration not only for Whittlebury Park to have another asset to their glowing list of amenities on their grounds, but for Hamm Tun to have the opportunity to have a second base other than their original home in Long Buckby, which is much smaller in comparison.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the grand opening ahead of them opening to the public and I wanted to share what you can expect inside the BRAND NEW Hamm Tun Fine Foods Deli at Whittlebury Park…
Warning: you may drool a bit and be prepared for all the Christmas gift inspiration!
A sneak peek inside Hamm Tun Fine Foods Deli
You really have to be there to experience the full breath of fresh air Hamm Tun and Whittlebury Park have given this old space.
Inside, you will find a lovely, warm and welcome bar area with comfy chairs against tables where you can buy regular soft drinks – plus, coffee too
Then the magic happens as you step inside the rustic, 1950’s-esque barn where the shop has transformed into a fully functioning shop, deli and working station for the cheese company.
“We haven’t stopped working” said Rachael, one of the co-owners of Hamm Tun – and I can tell because they’ve thought of every detail.
I even asked owner and founder, Gary, how he was feeling and whether he’s been able to calm down since the opening: “nope, I’ve still got cheese to cut!”.
Can’t blame him for working hard over this huge project!
Inside, there are two refrigerator displays for the famous Northamptonshire cheese and all the cured meats, including some gigantic homemade scotch eggs that look too good to be true!
You also have a wonderful view of the fruit and vegetable display that has everything you could need for a weekly essential shop – but even better and obviously more locally sourced!
They have tried extra hard to ensure everything they sell in the shop is from local businesses, from alcoholic products from Wharf Distillery and Fleur Fields Vineyard, jams and chutneys from Nature’s Fayre, to Great Brington ground coffee and much more!
They’ve got a lot which could also be purchased as Christmas gifts this year, plus there’s enough cheese, meats, olives and other nibbly bits that would be perfect for a Christmas cheeseboard!
What makes this place different compared to their shop in Long Buckby is that there are actual seating arrangements inside – so it’s not just a case of coming by and picking up your cheese and necessities, but you can come in, sit down, enjoy a drink and a bite to eat!
I even think it could be a potential place to work remotely with a laptop as there are plugs for chargers nearby!
It’s got everything and more to offer and I am so pleased to see this local business growing and thriving ahead of the festive season!
You can find Hamm Tun Fine Foods Deli and Farm Shop at the Paddocks, Whittlebury Park, NN12 8QT where it’ll be open Monday through to Sunday!
