Your Guide to Independent Cake Delivery Companies in Northamptonshire

I don’t know about you, but I have a SERIOUS SWEET TOOTH!

I have followed a lot of independent cake companies, who usually tend to be a one or two person team who started from scratch and have made a name for themselves in the local area.

Ever since I have followed and engaged with a few, whenever I see their posts on Instagram, I am constantly drooling over the yummy treats they have to share.

And all the one’s on this list, I have personally tried and tasted and had the pleasure of chatting to in person or online.

Plus, I think right now, we could all do with something sweet to keep our spirits up during the… you know what!

If you’re like me and you had plans to do Afternoon Tea with your mum for Mothers’ Day, there are lots of local businesses that can deliver cake boxes and sweet treats straight to your door.

But regardless of whether you have an occasion you’re looking to cater for such as a birthday, you want to order something as a treat for yourself or for a friend, or there’s simply no occasion at all and you just want cake!

Here are some of the best local cake companies you should consider ordering from for my next Northants Food Guide:

The Copper Kitchen

Nothing is stopping Gemma from The Copper Kitchen in delivering fantastic treat boxes and Afternoon Tea’s straight to your door. Everything is homemade and can be delivered with or without cutlery.

The Afternoon Tea’s especially come with everything you need to enjoy one at the comfort of your home, from scones, sandwiches and even little pots of jam and clotted cream.

We have previously been gifted an Afternoon Tea experience where Gemma delivered everything to our home and it really was such a memorable occasion – you can read about the full experience here.

You can order via The Copper Kitchen’s website, call 07725882271 or email

Friend in Me Bakery

If you’re after some Vegan treats, Friend in Me Bakery has you covered!

Amber is passionate about cooking vegan treats and can offer boxes of colourful cupcakes of all flavours, including Lemon Drizzle, Jaffa Cake and Mint Choc Chip!

She can also do things like Vegan Creme Eggs, which is obviously the dream for those who are vegan or dairy intolerant. Plus, the best vegan brownies I have ever tasted from Biscoff to Cookies and Cream!

Amber can deliver to your door locally, but an additional delivery charge may be added for further afield.

You can order via her Instagram page or email to place your order.

Katie’s Cakes

Homemade cakes, cupcakes and celebration cakes made to order by Katie at Katie’s Cakes, based in Paulerspury, near Towcester.

Katie is a personal friend of mine and has always had a passion for baking ever since I’ve known her and started out as a hobby baking at home for friends and family.

From this and receiving positive comments, she decided to turn it into a small home business baking a range of traditional and classic cakes to other bakes and ones that require a little skill.

You can order an array of celebration cupcakes and big cakes. I ordered a huge birthday chocolate drip cake for Josh’s birthday last year and it was AMAZING!

Sorina Jeffs Cakes & Bakes

Again, if you’re looking for a quick solution for Mothers’ Day this year, why not invest in an Afternoon Tea in a box, thanks to Sorina Jeffs Cakes & Bakes!

I first came across Sorina Jeffs Cakes & Bakes when they exhibited at one of the Abington Park Food Fairs when I caught sight of their very decorative looking cake pops!

She is currently doing Afternoon Tea boxes which serve 2 people and contain cute items such as homemade cakes, sandwiches, mini pots of jam and cream, plus scones – and you can even add in cheeky favours such as a mini bottle of prosecco too!

If you’re not in favour of those, Sorina Jeffs can also supply yummy blondies and brownies, as well as an array of cake pops too!

They can deliver locally in Northampton. Find out more about what you can order via their Facebook page or you can order by emailing or call 07594 286875.

Whipped Cakes UK

Another fabulous cake company I need to shout out and have personally had the honour of trying their amazing cakes and goodies!

Whipped Cakes UK is a Northampton based company owned by Cheylene who bakes an array of cupcakes, birthday, anniversary and celebration cakes, plus cake pops and even cupcake bouquets for a special occasion!

Cheylene was even nice enough to make me some Cake Jars, which consist of layers of moist cake sandwiched between layers of creamy buttercream which last up to 4 days. They are perfect, as they are easily posted out and are like a little hug in a jar!

Delivery is available across Northamptonshire, West Midlands and Leicestershire with free delivery for orders over £20!

Check Whipped Cakes UK out on Facebook or for more information, you can email or call 07871 261545.

Brooklyn Brownies

If you’re based in Northamptonshire and haven’t had the epic experience of putting a Brooklyn Brownie in your mouth, you are well and truly missing out.

Brooklyn Brownies is a father and son duo New Yorkers living in Northampton, who decided to make their own gooey brownie treats using elements of their American heritage after not being able to find quite the same treats in the UK.

They come in a huge variety of crazy and creative toppings, including Unicorn Explosion, Biscoff and Smorgasam which you can melt in the microwave for the ultimate experience.

People of Northampton have gone CRAZY for these brownies and I can personally see why! If you’re stuck on what to get, they offer a 12 gourmet brownie mix box for £25.99.

Check their Etsy store out here to drool over their range!

Brodersens Bageri

Not quite Northamptonshire, but Mette is an old school friend of mine originally from Towcester but now lives in Milton Keynes, who is delivering her Hygge baked treats across Northamptonshire and surrounding.

Brodersens Bageri is a Danish and English inspired bakery delivery service who specialise in homemade and heartfelt bakes, inspired by Mette’s heritage and will fill you with hygge happiness.

After hearing that she had started this new venture, I had to order some samples myself and decided I would go for a mixed box of 12 cookies for £13 which included Nutella, white choc, chocolate chip and soft orange cookies.

All incredibly moist and filled with love!

She even threw in some blondie bites for us to try which were equally delicious! It’s so lovely she’s made a business out of something that’s inspired by her great grandparents who owned bakery called “Brodersens Konditori”.

Check her website out here for more information.

Towcester Teas

If you’re after a box of treats to cheer yourself or someone else up, a new local treat business has opened!

Towcester Teas is managed by two girls based in Towcester who want to provide a bit of joy and happiness to those during lockdown and they’re doing it by providing treat boxes, specifically, afternoon tea.

For VE Day, I purchased an Afternoon Tea box for 2 which contained sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, cakes and much more in two different sizes.

You can order via their Facebook page. A small fee will apply for delivery in surrounding areas.

Burcote Bakes

If you’re after a brownie fix in the South Northamptonshire area, Burcote Bakes have some of the thickest, gooiest brownies I’ve ever tasted with some incredible toppings.

Burcote Bakes is another new business that has emerged during lockdown, run by Chloe James who is based at Burcote Fields, near Towcester and she’s only just started up so gave me a tray bake of brownies for free to try out.

And o m g they are good! I’d recommend eating them slowly as they are so indulgent! You can DM her on her Instagram page to make an order.

Tasties Kitchen

Northampton based Tasties Kitchen has emerged recently as a new business who is offering treat boxes, brownies, cakes and most recently doughnuts!

The company is run by professional chef Asa and Shemaiah runs the admin and together, they make up the duo behind Tasties Kitchen and they are always looking to improve their offering.

Our box came with red velvet cookies, brownies, rice krispies treats, biscoff cupcakes and even little fudge sweets for extra sweetness. I even hear some hot products are coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

You can order via their Instagram page here.

I hope this sweet list puts a smile on your face as well as give you more information on the local cake delivery companies available.

Please consider supporting local independent makers, as always and I hope this Northants Food Guide was useful to you!
