Who else just LOVES this time of year and the build up to Christmas!?
I know this year looks and feels very different to normal – heck, we weren’t even sure if events and occasions were going to go ahead this year. It’s all quite up in the air, but for now, as Northamptonshire is placed in tier 2, there is still reason to smile, get joyful and feel optimistic about Christmas.
Northamptonshire is still gearing up to ensure Christmas is as safe and fun as possible – with many of the events being Covid-19 friendly and ensuring plenty of social distancing can be done.
I know things are a little bit meh at the moment, but I hope you can take advantage of some of these events with your bubble that are happening this month!
Here are some events happening in Northamptonshire this Christmas!
Small Business Christmas Pop-Up at Ruby & Claret
Ruby & Claret have just recently moved to a brand new home in Earls Barton and to celebrate, they are hosting a Christmas Pop-Up where you can expect all the local, handmade Christmas shopping!
Ruby & Claret will have a wide range of giftable bottles available as well as their popular Christmas hampers.
They will also be joined by Crazy Daisies, Mazie & Co, Nikkita Palmer Designs and more!
The event will take place at 40 The Square, Earls Barton from 11am – 4pm on Saturday 5th December.
Wreath Making at Delapré Abbey
One of the most satisfying activities to do this Christmas, is making your own Christmas wreath and knowing you did it all by yourself!
Delapre Abbey will be hosting a variety of Wreath Making workshops where you can use natural materials foraged from the grounds of Delapre Abbey to create a beautiful wreath to hang on your door.
You will learn the art of wreath making from scratch using Buff Willow as a base and decorate it with a variety of foliage including pine cones, fern, holly and berries.
The sessions will take approximately an hour and a half and will cost £20 per session. Dates include Friday 4th, Thursday 10th, Friday 11th and times vary.
Wicksteed Park Christmas Market
Pop-Up Partners have teamed up with Wicksteed Park to bring a Christmas Market where it’s expected to have over 30 traders all set in traditional wooden chalet huts from 19th – 24th.
This will be a prime opportunity to shop from local businesses and help them during this time and give the residents of Northamptonshire and beyond a bit of cheer!
I love nothing more than a Christmas market, so this will be something I’ll definitely try and attend!
Daventry Christmas Market
Daventry Town Council is hosting their annual Christmas Market where you can expect to find a wide selection of festive stalls selling unique and thoughtful gifts to help you get ahead of your Christmas shopping.
It’s always a brilliant turnout at a Daventry market as they host a variety of stallholders selling all sorts from gifts, decorations, food and drink, plus a few takeaway food options for you to enjoy whilst there.
The town centre also comes to life and it’s well worth visiting the independent shops that will be open for business too!
The market is on Saturday 12th December from 10am – 3pm with various free parking available across the town.

I hope December is a joyful, fun and memorable month for you! Always remember to stick to the guidelines to ensure we all keep safe!
